Apple Opens iPhone Duo Pre-Order Setup Ahead of October 16
Apple opened its “Get Ready” window for iPhone Duo so buyers can save most of their order before pre-orders go live. Pre-orders start Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific (8 a.m. Eastern). The option opened Monday in the Apple Store app and on Apple’s online store, MacRumors and 9to5Mac report.
9 p.m. PT Thursday cutoff for one-click checkout
On October 15, Apple said U.S. customers needed to finish Get Ready—saving configuration, accessories, trade-in, and payment choices to the shopping bag—by 9 p.m. Pacific Thursday to check out with a single click when pre-orders opened Friday at 5 a.m. PT, per MacRumors and Apple Newsroom. Completing Get Ready still doesn’t place an order or reserve stock.
What you can set up
According to MacRumors, Get Ready lets you pick a color and storage capacity, confirm carrier status, choose accessories and an AppleCare+ plan, add a trade-in and a payment method, and set shipping and billing addresses. 9to5Mac adds that payment can be in full, financed with Apple Card, through Apple Upgrade, or via carrier offers.
Per Apple’s announcement, iPhone Duo comes in Star White and Night Sky and starts at $1,999 (U.S.) for 256GB, with 512GB, 1TB and 2TB options also available. The device launches Friday, October 23 in the U.S. and more than 70 other countries and regions, with 28 more following on October 30.
