Wall-Mounted HomeView Ships Without Power Adapter, Cable, or Mount

Apple’s wall-mounted HomeView ships without a power adapter, USB-C cable, or mount—buyers must source those separately, MacRumors reports from an Apple Support document posted Oct. 14.

What’s in the box (and what isn’t)

Per Apple Support and the HomeView tech specs, the tabletop HomeView includes a USB-C cable (1.5 m) and a 30W adapter (15V at 2A or higher). The wall-mounted box contains only the device and documentation. Compatible third-party mounts and a USB-C cable plus adapter (at least 20W, supporting 9V at 2.22A or higher) are sold separately; some mounts can hardwire to line power instead.

If power requirements aren’t met, the hub shows a “Power Adapter Not Supported” message. Apple suggests testing the wall unit outside its mount with a known-good USB-C cable and adapter; if it then works, contact the mount maker or installer.

Both HomeView models are $299 in the U.S., with availability beginning Nov. 13. Schneider Home mounts for the wall version start around $60–$130.
